Pierce played for Ardmore Rovers until the age of 13, before leaving the club for Belvedere FC.

He has represented Ireland at U15, U17 and U18 levels and sealed a move to Bray Wanderers in 2011.

Pierce quickly made an impression at the Carlisle Grounds, making his debut in March 2012, before being spotted and transferred to Premier League side Reading in the summer of 2012.

Currently Pierce plays for Exeter City in EFL League Two and has become a permanent fixture in their first team.
